WHO TO WATCH IN ROUND 2?

Round 2 is nearly upon us. We’re going out to Surakarta in Indonesia with all the best riders from an epic Round 1 in Thailand.

Before you tune in, let’s have a run down on who to watch out for in the battle for first in the 2017 FIM Asia Supermoto Championship.

Round 1 saw British rider Lewis Cornish take first place, and he is now sitting at the top of the leaderboard. Whilst he is enjoying himself for now, being first isn’t all fun and games. A whole field of eager riders will be looking to beat Lewis this team around, including rivals Malaysia’s Muhd Habibullah (Gabit) and Thailand’s in-form Trakarn Thangthong.

It will be these three riders you’ll need to keep both eyes on during the live stream of Round 2, but, a name to look out for is local rider Farhan Hendro. He stunned the crowd in Thailand with an outstanding performance, despite mechanical issues in the practice and qualifying rounds.

With pressure coming from Japan’s Naoto Takayama and Russia’s Artem Teslenko, who tailed the Indonesian rider tightly, Farhan managed to increase his gap with a full throttle on the straights and sound handling on the off-road.

Farhan was tenth on the grid for Moto 1, but completed in the sixth place. He’ll be looking to impress in front of a home crowd, but can he deliver.

If Round 1 was anything to go by, we can expect another epic battle for Round 2 in Indonesia.
